WSI Case Study
Home Decor | Interior Design | Wallpapering | Curtain Manufacturer
Our client wanted to target a very specific geographic area in Durban, KZN, South Africa.
The Challenge:
This client had little website traffic coming to her site and as a result was struggling to get any leads at all. She had paid a company to do SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) work, both on-page and linkbuilding, but she was worried that she didn’t get any results. The client was concerned as she didn’t see any reports or tangible evidence from the previous company doing work that things were working, or that they were actually doing work for her. The client had lost trust in what digital marketing could do for her business.
The Solution:
Solution Offered by WSI
After researching the market online, some of the clients’ competitors and doing extensive keyword research WSI offered the below services to begin with:
- SEO – On-page restructuring. It was found that the previous company had done this very badly and not according to Google’s best practices.
- PPC – Google Ads, to try to bring faster, more qualified traffic to the site. ● Blogs – Adding more valuable and readable content regularly to help the SEO, but also to try and be found for more long tail keyword terms and get better quality users coming to the website.
- Reporting and Consultation – monthly reporting on all data points that the client wants to see, plus quarterly strategic meetings for her business. This allows WSI and the client to not only understand what has been done, but to see how effective over time it has been and to see how this affects her bottom line in the business.
The Results:
Previously the client was spending more money on Google Ads, so the suggestion was to lower this and for WSI to try and get better results over time with less budget. The focus then moved to SEO.
The left screenshot clearly shows that the SEO work being done in the first 3 months of 2024 has improved the organic search traffic by more than double, as compared to the previous year when the previous company was doing the same work as WSI.
WSI stopped using other metrics as a form of conversion and only focused on actual website forms filled in and email clicks from the website as these generally lead to better quality
leads. This information came from the client. The above shows that these numbers have increased dramatically over the first 3 months of 2024 as opposed to the same 3 months in 2023.
What does this actually mean for the business?
With less spend the client now has more website traffic coming from organic searches that, as per the client, are leading to more qualified enquiries.
These enquiries have a higher sales conversion rate – 65% according to the client, than previously. The client has said that leads have led to invoices ranging between R15 000 – R137 000.
- 164% increase in Organic User traffic to the website
- 50 forms being filled in on the website with a thank you page after they have been submitted
- Total spend in these 3 months was approximately R45 000.
- Return on invoices paid from leads gained – Over R500 000 according to the client.
I would recommend WSI’s service to anyone in a heartbeat. They understand our needs and budget, while also doing a great job. We’ve been a customer for 3 years and not once have they dropped the ball. They always go above and beyond with Mel and the team being very knowledgeable in all things web-related. They are a partner you would want in your corner in the new Digital Age.
